This website, its content and our official Facebook page are protected by copyright and trade marks. This includes text, graphics, images, illustrations, photographs and its design and merchandise. Downloading or copying any part requires our prior permission in writing. Use of any material contained within is strictly prohibited without prior permission.
If you require information regarding permission to use one or more of our Registered Trade Marks, please email us. We impose strict conditions and a charge for the granting of a licence simply because we are attempting to protect the name and accurately record the history and attributes of a church based football team named ‘St Marks (West Gorton)’®. Infringements of the 1994 Trade Marks Act are classed as a criminal offence, enforced by us and government agencies such as Trading Standards who may take action without contacting the TM holder.
As an independent venture committed to safeguarding the name ‘St Marks (West Gorton)’® and providing historical accuracy, any deliberate copyright or trade mark infringements are treated extremely seriously. We do this with the best of intentions including preventing the sale of historically inaccurate, inappropriate, substandard counterfeit merchandise.
All our memorabilia is pre 1894 era based, and historically accurate at the time of manufacture. We do our utmost to ensure items are offered for sale with historical authenticity. In addition to all the above, we have no affiliations to any political organisation, sporting club or association.
As a mark of respect to the victims, families and all innocent people involved in the events in Manchester on 22nd May 2017, we do not and never will design, produce or market Manchester related ‘Bee’ products. We also take the same stance regarding ‘Poppy’ products with respect to the fallen in war. The British Legion sells all sorts of poppy products and we recommend a peruse in its website shop at https://www.poppyshop.org.uk where it is guaranteed that 100% of all profit goes towards ongoing service, support, recovery and rehabilitation work. This promise of respect is a core principle.
This website is made up of two distinct segments. The first is broken down into sections over several pages and concerns itself with providing an historically accurate account of the origins, the church, early years and records of the team, along with similar style related historical information covering many topics including football or other subjects we feel may be of interest. The second segment is our online shop which contains memorabilia offered by us for anyone to purchase and celebrate the unique history of St Marks (West Gorton), the church, its sporting teams and the original football team to 1894.
If you feel we have inadvertently infringed your trademarks or copyrights, please email us with all the details. As a legitimate venture we make great efforts to ensure compliance with all current legislation. Monies received from purchases made from us, in part go towards providing funding for the upkeep and maintenance of this website, the research we undertake, our charity donations and the expenses we incur by safeguarding this original and historic name.
We reserve the right to cancel any order we receive at any time prior to posting. Only the payment received will be refunded. If this action is deemed appropriate by us we will send notification to the email address supplied.
If you do contact us please be aware our standard office hours are Monday to Friday 9.30am – 3pm. If you contact us outside of these hours or at weekend/bank holiday please do not expect a response until we return to the office.
We aim to continually improve all our clothing products. This may include slight material texture changes or printing/labelling changes for example, which we feel enhances the quality of the product. Please always read carefully the item description before deciding to make any purchase.
We take ethical trading extremely seriously and are committed to doing everything we can to ensure we offer the best possible products without damaging the environment or risking anyone’s human rights in the process. We refuse to work with anyone who shows any discrepancy within their practices regarding this core value.
If you have any related historical information, know something relevant that we have not mentioned or possess old photographs as yet unpublished, please contact us via email. All correspondence is treated with utmost confidentiality.
